AutoZone IT Architect Job Description

We are seeking an experienced IT Architect to join our Order Management/Warranty/Dropship team at AutoZone. The successful candidate will be responsible for developing cloud-native technical solutions to business problems, ensuring efficient implementation, and upgrading or defining new architecture systems to support current and future Java applications running in the cloud.

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in designing and building highly scalable distributed systems, with experience in backend development and design, preferably with Java Spring-Boot microservices. They will also have a strong collaboration and communication skills, with the ability to work with other system architects, third-party vendors, and cross-functional teams.

The IT Architect will be responsible for:

  • Writing high-level design, performing technical design reviews, code reviews, and system test reviews.
  • Ensuring designs align with enterprise architecture guidelines and industry best practices.
  • Defining application scope and objectives, and preparing high-level design specifications.
  • Sharing knowledge on newer technologies with the team and providing mentoring and training.
  • Identifying and building proof-of-concepts required for future directions.
  • Continuously innovating to build a competitive edge for the company.

The successful candidate will have a Master's or Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or Engineering, or a related discipline, with 9+ years of experience in application development, and 5+ years of in-depth development experience with Java and Spring-Boot.
