Job Description

Orbis Inc is seeking a skilled Waterfront Ship Manager Representative to provide on-site support and oversight for US Navy surface ship modernizations.

This position requires a candidate with 5 years of experience in the oversight and management of removal, installation, and testing of Navy ships systems during ship availabilities.

The ideal candidate will have knowledge of naval shipboard systems maintenance and operation, as well as experience working with electrical, mechanical, test, welding, etc. personnel.

A strong understanding of quality assurance processes and regulations is also necessary for this role.

Salary Range: $58,000-$81,000 per year

As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for providing updates for each ship in an availability undergoing modernization, coordinating ship yard and shipboard access, reviewing work plans and schedules, and ensuring planned work is accomplished in accordance with ship yard schedules and regulations.

You will also be required to interface with NSWCPD program managers and ISEAs to ensure material has been delivered to the ship yard in accordance with light off assessment (LOA) letter requirements.

Additionally, you will be responsible for physically verifying material has been delivered, tracking down lost or misplaced material, and providing feedback regarding material status to the NSWCPD program office.

Other responsibilities include providing a weekly waterfront status report, coordinating the execution of NSWCPD test procedures, and coordinating System Problem Improvement Report (SPIR) data entry.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide updates for each ship in an availability undergoing modernization.
  • Coordinate ship yard and shipboard access.
  • Review work plans and schedules.
  • Ensure planned work is accomplished in accordance with ship yard schedules and regulations.
  • Interface with NSWCPD program managers and ISEAs.
  • Physically verify material has been delivered.
  • Track down lost or misplaced material.
  • Provide feedback regarding material status to the NSWCPD program office.
  • Provide a weekly waterfront status report.
  • Coordinate the execution of NSWCPD test procedures.

Requirements:

  • 5 years of experience in the oversight and management of removal, installation, and testing of Navy ships systems during ship availabilities.
  • Knowledge of naval shipboard systems maintenance and operation.
  • Experience working with electrical, mechanical, test, welding, etc. personnel.
  • Strong understanding of quality assurance processes and regulations.
  • US Citizen with Secret Security Clearance.
