Nashville General Hospital Job Description

We are seeking a skilled Patient Transporter to join our team at Nashville General Hospital. As a Patient Transporter, you will play a critical role in ensuring the safe and efficient transportation of patients and guests within our hospital.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Transport patients and guests to and from hospital departments, clinical units, and the hospital parking garage in a safe and timely manner.
  • Assist nursing staff in creating and maintaining a safe environment for patients.
  • Provide direct observation of patients during transportation and report any changes in their condition to supervisors and staff.
  • Assist healthcare professionals in lifting and moving patients as needed.
  • Clean and maintain equipment as required.

Requirements:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent required.
  • Active certification in BLS or become certified within 90 days of hire.
  • Valid Class D driver's license and clean driving record required.
  • Experience driving a utility vehicle (golf cart) is preferred, but training will be provided.
  • Excellent customer service and interpersonal skills required.
