Industrial and Facilities Maintenance Technician

We are seeking an experienced Industrial and Facilities Maintenance Technician to support our Optics manufacturing company. This role will be responsible for maintaining production equipment in a fast-paced production environment, including facilities maintenance of the building.

Main Responsibilities:
  • Understanding of PLCs and ability to access programs for troubleshooting purposes
  • Common knowledge of hand tools and electrical testing equipment
  • Maintaining detailed documentation of service repair tickets and preventive maintenance tasks performed
  • Supporting the Safety Program with facilities issues
  • Troubleshooting and performing preventive maintenance on general manufacturing equipment, including starters, start/stop stations, motors, and rotating machinery
  • Working with production personnel to troubleshoot and understand mechanical problems
  • Diagnosing, troubleshooting, and repairing complex mechanical problems and determining how to correct them, checking blueprints, repair manuals, and maintaining parts catalogs
  • Maintaining building, HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and gas systems
  • Contracting with outside suppliers as required to support the above
  • Performing required inventory transactions to ensure accurate inventory of parts and supplies
  • Continually assessing the building, grounds, and machinery with respect to functionality, professional appearance, and safety
  • Assisting the Facilities Manager with daily and special projects
  • Other duties as assigned
Requirements:
  • Minimum 5 years' experience in relevant facility maintenance functions
  • HVAC, Plumbing, and Electrical experience/skills preferred
  • PLC programming
  • Manufacturing experience required
  • Cleanroom, Building Automated Systems, and DI Water experience is a plus
  • Personal Computer skills, including proficiency with Windows, Word, and Excel
  • Demonstrated dependability and flexibility
  • Ability to work independently as well as with a team
  • Positive, honest, creative, and energetic attitude
  • Ability to handle multiple roles and support requests simultaneously with excellent follow-up
  • Ability to lift up to 40 pounds
  • Ability to be on your feet for eight hours
  • Valid driver's license and good driving record
  • High School diploma or equivalent required, some college or trade school preferred

Pay Range $28-$34 per hour, depending on experience
