About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Utilities Maintenance Operator to join our team at Hillsborough County. As a key member of our Public Utilities Department, you will be responsible for the maintenance, operation, and construction of underground utility piping and appurtenances in field conditions.

Responsibilities:

  1. Maintain and repair all phases of water, reclaim, and wastewater systems.
  2. Inspect cross-connection controls and install, evaluate, and repair master meter assemblies and backflow prevention devices.
  3. Diagnose malfunctions using manufacturers' handbooks, codes, and standard operating procedures.
  4. Operate specialized, light, and heavy equipment, including service trucks and trailers.
  5. Perform other related duties as required.
