Job Summary

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Warehouse Operations Worker to join our team at Sysco. As a key member of our distribution center, you will be responsible for selecting products from inventory, assembling, packing, and transporting them to staging areas for shipment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Select products from inventory and stage them on pallets for shipment.
  • Load and unload product deliveries as required.
  • Record item information into the Warehouse Management System (WMS) or applicable inventory system.
  • Maintain accurate records of shortages and report them to the Supervisor.
  • Stack product on pallets with heavier items on the bottom and lighter items on top to prevent damage.
  • Deliver stacked pallets to assigned areas on the loading dock to ensure accurate staging and loading.
  • Secure pallets with shrink wrap for delivery.
  • Work effectively with the Supervisor to minimize warehouse shrink and general inventory control.
  • Responsible for maintaining a clean and organized work area, accurate warehouse locations, and travel aisles, loading bays, and docks.
  • Report any unfixable or unsafe issues to the Supervisor immediately.
  • Observe and enforce all safety rules to reduce accidents and injuries.
  • Operate material handling equipment, such as forklifts and pallet jacks, in a safe and orderly manner.
  • Ensure material handling equipment is maintained and clean, and report repair or service needs to the Supervisor.
  • Use warehouse computers and equipment in a safe and professional manner.
  • Understand and comply with all applicable company policies and laws.
  • Cross-train in other warehouse functions and perform other warehouse duties as assigned.
Requirements
  • Must be at least 18 years of age.
  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED) preferred; previous warehouse experience and/or training preferred.
  • Material Handling Equipment preferred; Reach truck experience preferred; Crown and/or Raymond reach truck experience a plus.
Work Environment

The work environment is fast-paced and dynamic, with frequent exposure to freezer/cooler warehouse environments. The noise level is typically loud.
