Position Summary:
This role presents an exceptional opportunity to spearhead a new initiative within our hospitalist division, focusing on the establishment of an advanced practice team. We seek a motivated individual who is enthusiastic about developing and enhancing the hospitalist APP team in partnership with our leadership.
Key Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with the Director of Advanced Practice Provider Services and the Medical Director to facilitate the growth and management of the Nurse Practitioner/Physician Assistant group within designated service lines.
- Engage actively with Quality Management to create and implement clinical protocols.
- Oversee the performance and documentation of care provided by Nurse Practitioners and Physician Assistants, fostering effective teamwork to meet patient care needs.
- Provide comprehensive clinical supervision, including task assignments, scheduling, training, and performance evaluations in alignment with institutional policies.
- Participate in the recruitment and onboarding of Nurse Practitioners and Physician Assistants, ensuring a smooth integration into the team.
- Identify educational needs and develop training programs to promote professional development among staff.
- Contribute to the formulation of policies and procedures that adhere to established healthcare standards.
- Exhibit sound judgment in addressing patient care issues and demonstrate effective leadership within the Clinical Program Manager role.
- Lead discussions on quality metrics and patient feedback, developing actionable plans for service improvement.
- Facilitate organizational change to achieve service line objectives, implementing strategies to enhance patient satisfaction and reduce operational costs.
- Act as a liaison among nursing, medical staff, and quality management teams.
Qualifications:
- Master's Degree in Nursing with completion of a Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant program.
- A minimum of four years of experience as a Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant is required, with preference for candidates with leadership or supervisory experience.
Licensure and Certification:
- Must be registered and currently licensed with the Maryland Board of Examiners of Nurses and certified as a Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant in Maryland. Specialty certification is preferred.
- Current certifications in ACLS, BCLS, PALS, and NRP are required, as applicable to the area of practice.
