ROLE AND POSITION OBJECTIVES:

As a Logistics Coordinator for General Dynamics Mission Systems (GDMS) Precision Structures & Optics (PSO), you will collaborate with various teams, including project management, production, and procurement, to streamline operations, manage materials movement, oversee inventory control, maintain records, and schedule tasks. GDMS specializes in manufacturing Beryllium products for the most demanding applications in the aerospace, defense, and nuclear sectors. Our products are integral to high-performance sensing systems utilized in targeting, acquisition, surveillance, and reconnaissance missions, and are designed to withstand battlefield conditions.

Preferred Skills:

  • Comprehensive understanding of ERP Systems
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel; experience with Access is preferred
  • Collaborative team player with the ability to delegate tasks effectively
  • Strong planning, scheduling, and execution capabilities
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks while maintaining focus on priority assignments

Representative Duties:

  • Conduct daily or weekly meetings with the Production team to ensure timely processing and delivery of expedited products
  • Assist the Materials Manager/Master Scheduler with capacity and schedule planning
  • Coordinate with Supply Chain and external vendors to guarantee timely product processing
  • Ensure all items sent for coating have appropriate purchase orders with necessary priority
  • Verify that each manufacturing area is focused on the correct products to meet shipment requirements
  • Facilitate daily stand-up meetings to ensure the right product mix is produced to meet weekly schedules

  • Exceptional communication skills, both verbal and written, for improved interdepartmental coordination and collaboration with project managers and supervisors regarding delivery timelines
