Position Overview

As a Clinical Nutrition Specialist, you will play a crucial role in delivering medical nutrition therapy and assessing the effectiveness of dietary interventions within a long-term care environment.

Key Responsibilities

- Provide nutrition services in alignment with established policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements.
- While not in a supervisory capacity, you will hold the necessary administrative authority and accountability to fulfill your responsibilities and mentor staff as needed.
- Plan, organize, develop, and oversee the nutritional care of residents, ensuring adherence to current federal, state, and local standards, guidelines, and regulations.
- Collaborate effectively with team members to guarantee the provision of high-quality nutritional services on a daily basis.
- Serve as a resource for the Dining Services Department Head, ensuring that the dining services area is maintained in a clean, safe, and sanitary condition.
- Act as a liaison between the dining department and clinical staff to enhance communication and service delivery.

Qualifications and Experience

- Bachelor's degree in Dietetics from an accredited institution.
- Master's degree in Dietetics or a related field from an accredited institution is required starting January 1, 2024.
- Must be registered with the Commission on Dietetic Registration of the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics and hold a license in the state of Pennsylvania or obtain licensure and registration within six months of employment.
- Compliance with CMS vaccination mandates is necessary.
- Reliable, with experience in facilities that utilize large-scale food production methods.
- Proficient in maintaining records and completing required reports.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to interact positively with residents, clients, interdisciplinary teams, and the public.
- Knowledgeable about dietary practices, procedures, and the laws, regulations, and guidelines governing dietary functions in a nursing facility.
- Demonstrated leadership capabilities and a willingness to collaborate harmoniously with other staff members.
- Competent in planning, organizing, developing, implementing, and interpreting the programs, goals, objectives, policies, and procedures of the Food Services Department.
