Job Title: Clinical Laboratory Scientist

We are seeking a skilled Clinical Laboratory Scientist to join our team at Christus Health. As a key member of our laboratory staff, you will be responsible for performing various laboratory procedures, ensuring accurate test results, and maintaining high-quality standards.

About the Job

This is a per diem position, working as needed. The successful candidate will have a strong foundation in clinical laboratory science and experience in laboratory settings.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform routine and complex laboratory procedures, including specimen processing, testing, and result calculation.
  • Operate, maintain, and troubleshoot laboratory instrumentation and equipment.
  • Participate in quality control programs and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Collaborate with other laboratory staff to develop and implement new procedures and protocols.
  • Provide notification and documentation of critical laboratory values obtained.
Requirements

To be considered for this role, you must possess:

  • A Bachelor's Degree or higher in a chemical, physical, biological, or clinical laboratory science or medical technology from an accredited institution.
  • Certification for MT, MLS, CLS, or MLT from ASCP, AMT, AAB, or HEW/HHS.
  • At least one year of approved clinical laboratory experience, including rotations through Blood Banking, Microbiology, Chemistry, Hematology, Immunology, and Urinalysis/Body Fluids.
Salary and Benefits

The estimated annual salary for this position is $65,000 - $85,000, depending on location and experience. Additional benefits include health insurance, paid time off, and opportunities for professional growth and development.
