About Christus Health
Established in 1959, Christus Children's Hospital is the first children's hospital in South-Central Texas. Our 190-plus-bed hospital serves over 70,000 children annually from San Antonio, South Texas, and around the world. As an academic children's hospital in partnership with Baylor College of Medicine, we offer specialized services meeting unique medical needs, including Pediatric and Neonatal Intensive Care, Children's Emergency Services, and much more.

The Role
We are looking for a dedicated Laboratory Specialist to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for:
* Performing routine and complicated laboratory procedures, including specimen processing, testing, and result reporting
* Operating and maintaining laboratory instrumentation and equipment, making minor repairs as necessary
* Ensuring adherence to quality control programs and protocols
* Calculating, entering, and verifying results of laboratory procedures
* Utilizing the Laboratory Information System to track and manage data

Requirements and Qualifications
To be considered for this exciting opportunity, applicants must hold a Bachelor's Degree in a chemical, physical, biological, or clinical laboratory science or medical technology from an accredited institution. One year of approved clinical laboratory experience is also required, including rotations through Blood Banking, Microbiology, Chemistry, Hematology, Immunology, and Urinalysis/Body Fluids. Board Certification or eligibility within one year of hire is also mandatory.
