The SAP Functional Business Analyst will engage in all stages of an enterprise-level implementation of application functionalities. This role will also provide ongoing support for the solution post-implementation, collaborating with third-party vendors and various teams to facilitate enhancements, fixes, and upgrades within the designated functional area.

This position is highly visible and demands a comprehensive understanding and hands-on experience with enterprise applications, including system configuration and administration across the organization, as well as capacity and throughput parameters aligned with business goals.

The analyst will be tasked with gathering and documenting business requirements, contributing to solution design, drafting user cases, functional and technical specifications, and test scripts, while also participating in the testing of applications and business solutions.

Successful candidates will possess extensive experience in application development and delivery, spanning from the initial business case through to deployment and operational support.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Engage in planning activities at the division level as directed by management, consistently identifying and supporting opportunities to enhance systems and business processes, project management methodologies, and product reviews or pilots.
  • Support the daily activities of the business analyst team members, including mentoring new and junior analysts and serving as a professional role model.
  • Facilitate problem-solving functions within a team environment across various business functional areas, coordinating multiple groups and ensuring project management functions meet scope and quality expectations.
  • Ensure appropriate change management practices are implemented, including providing business training to facilitate a seamless "go-live" scenario.
  • Manage day-to-day project and operational activities, identifying and resolving project and operational challenges as directed by the Project Team Lead or Applications Manager. Contribute to the productivity and effectiveness of project teams and report on work progress regularly.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders, business users, and subject matter experts to discover and document business requirements, translating high-level needs into user stories and detailed specifications for team members, including internal and external stakeholders, quality assurance testers, technical developers, and system integrators.

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science or related fields, with applicable professional certification and over 5 years of experience in the IT industry or equivalent experience.
  • Experience managing mid-size to large projects.
  • Proven track record of best practices relevant to the job functions.
  • Experience with multiple application full life-cycle implementations and upgrades.

Skills and Attributes:

  • Proficient in gathering business requirements, producing quality design, testing documentation, and implementing relevant applications/solutions and upgrades.
  • Strong ability to act as a liaison between business users and external development partners, as well as other teams.
  • Demonstrated analytical skills and hands-on experience in a range of functional needs, showcasing the ability to create original concepts, provide alternatives, recommend solutions, and implement them effectively.
  • Solid knowledge and expertise in SAP Sales Distribution, Material Management, Finance, Project System, and Timekeeping modules.
  • Familiarity with SAP GTS, BRIM, Entitlement Management, and Icertis ICI is desirable.
  • Extensive experience in application build-out, deployment, and release management best practices.
  • Good understanding of data modeling and relational databases.
  • Ability to create basic queries and generate reports for analysis.
  • Awareness of application platforms and current technology trends.
  • Experience with application deployment and release management.
  • Proven ability to multitask and manage multiple projects at various stages of scoping, requirements, design, development, and data conversion.
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication, and presentation skills.
  • Strong project management capabilities.
  • Ability to work independently and achieve required results.
  • Strong work ethic and self-motivated attitude.
  • Open to learning and embracing new initiatives.
  • Positive attitude, organized, and proficient in documentation.
