Position Summary:

As a Laboratory Technician, you will be responsible for executing both routine and specialized sample extraction of soil, water, and plant tissue for pesticide residue analysis. You will collaborate with a team that includes fellow technicians, chemists, and supervisors.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct sample preparation in accordance with established operating procedures.
  • Input data into the Lab Information Management System (LIMS) and familiarize yourself with its design and functionalities.
  • Monitor and verify laboratory equipment such as balances, refrigerators, incubators, pipettes, grinders, and other instruments.
  • Identify, report, and document any non-conformities encountered during daily operations.
  • Execute routine laboratory tests on samples, including pH, conductivity, solids, nitrates, alkalinity, and sulfate, following Standard Operating Procedures.
  • Ensure thorough and accurate documentation of all testing activities.
  • Process samples efficiently to meet client turnaround expectations.
  • Identify opportunities for process enhancements and assist in their implementation.
  • Provide training to other laboratory personnel within your area of responsibility.
  • Comply with laboratory safety protocols and reporting standards.
  • Perform additional duties as required to support laboratory operations.

Qualifications:

  • A minimum of an associate's degree in a scientific discipline or at least two years of experience in a commercial laboratory setting.
  • Proven ability to work collaboratively within a team environment.
  • A positive attitude with the capacity to adapt to a dynamic and fast-paced work environment.
  • This is an entry-level position with a standard work schedule from Monday to Friday.
