Our laboratory in Sherwood, Oregon specializes in pesticide residue analysis for clients nationwide and globally, catering to the testing requirements of the agricultural and environmental sectors with an extensive array of capabilities and services.

Importance of the Role:

This position plays a crucial role in supporting best agricultural practices, assessing contamination levels for remediation sites, aiding governmental and academic research projects, and addressing spray drift disputes.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct analytical testing of food and ingredients, plant tissue samples, and soil and water utilizing gas and/or liquid chromatography techniques.
  • Identify, document, and communicate any discrepancies with instruments and methodologies, assisting in troubleshooting, root cause analysis, and the implementation of corrective measures.
  • Perform routine and non-routine maintenance and troubleshooting of laboratory instruments.
  • Engage in quality system initiatives, including the upkeep of testing and training documentation.
  • Ensure that sample turnaround times and other key performance metrics are achieved.
  • Review and revise controlled documents and procedures as necessary.
  • Participate in internal and external audits pertaining to ISO 17025:2017 accreditation.
  • Under the guidance of senior personnel, carry out method validation tasks, including documentation and communication of results and statuses.
  • Identify and assist in implementing process enhancements.
  • Adhere to laboratory safety protocols and reporting standards.
  • Follow established Standard Operating Procedures and Work Instructions.
  • Other responsibilities may be assigned to support laboratory operations.
  • The typical schedule for this role is Monday through Friday, from 8 AM to 4:30 PM.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in a scientific field, preferably Chemistry. Relevant laboratory experience may be considered in lieu of educational qualifications.
