Position Overview
The Chief Technology Officer will lead the information technology strategies and initiatives within the organization, ensuring the optimal utilization of IT resources to meet business objectives. This role encompasses strategic planning, project oversight, and leadership aimed at enhancing the company's technological framework, support systems, and cybersecurity measures. A minimum of four days per week on-site presence is required.
Key Responsibilities
- Strategic Planning:
- Formulate and execute IT strategies that align with the organization’s goals.
- Allocate budget for IT requirements, including staffing, hardware, software, and additional resources.
- Evaluate and track technology trends to maintain a competitive edge.
- Project Oversight:
- Direct the planning, execution, and management of IT projects.
- Ensure timely delivery of projects within defined scope and budget.
- Collaborate with various departments to identify their technology needs and provide effective solutions.
- System Management:
- Guarantee the availability, performance, and security of the organization’s IT systems and infrastructure.
- Supervise the maintenance and upgrades of existing systems and infrastructure.
- Establish and manage disaster recovery and backup protocols.
- Identify and implement strategic initiatives for automation and enhanced efficiencies.
- Vendor Relations:
- Build and sustain relationships with IT vendors and service providers.
- Negotiate contracts and oversee vendor performance to ensure compliance with service level agreements (SLAs).
- Security and Compliance:
- Develop and implement a comprehensive cybersecurity framework.
- Identify, assess, and mitigate security vulnerabilities.
- Ensure adherence to regulatory standards and industry guidelines.
- Formulate and manage the incident response strategy.
- Lead the response to security incidents and breaches.
- Oversee the deployment and management of security technologies (e.g., firewalls, intrusion detection/prevention systems, SIEM).
- ECommerce Support:
- Ensure the smooth operation and ongoing enhancement of the organization’s eCommerce platform.
- Work closely with marketing and sales teams to improve user experience and optimize performance.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related discipline (Master's degree preferred).
- A minimum of four days per week on-site presence is required.
- 7-10 years of experience in IT management, with at least 3-5 years in a leadership capacity.
- Demonstrated experience in strategic planning, budgeting, and project management.
- Expertise in system administration, network management, and data governance.
- Proficient in security systems, enterprise applications, and electronic data interchange (EDI).
- Familiarity with Google platforms and general network infrastructure.
- Experience with ERP systems, CRM platforms, and other enterprise software.
- Understanding of regulatory compliance, including GDPR, CCPA, or other relevant laws.
- Experience with Sage100 and Shopify is a plus.
- Consistently curious, personable, and driven by a desire to understand root causes.
