Key Responsibilities:


The Senior Nurse Practitioner Manager for Cardiac Care Services is primarily responsible for clinical oversight, enhancing the quality of care, and managing the comprehensive care of patients undergoing cardiac catheterization and/or electrophysiology procedures throughout the pre-operative, intra-operative, and post-operative phases. This includes obtaining consents, conducting health assessments with necessary data, managing orders, coordinating consultations, overseeing discharges, and assisting in procedures.

A diverse skill set is utilized to educate, consult, and manage the cardiac patient population while supporting patients and their families, the care team, and physicians.

Collaboration with the healthcare team, including interventional cardiologists, electrophysiologists, anesthesiologists, and other involved physicians, as well as nurses and case management, is essential to ensure optimal patient care.

Efficient planning of procedures with Cath Lab leadership is crucial to ensure timely completion of cases.

As a clinical educator, this role involves working with staff on competencies related to cardiac catheterization and electrophysiology, introducing new procedures, and enhancing advanced practice skills.

Strong interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills are essential, along with excellent team-building and problem-solving abilities, and a proactive approach to driving improvements.

Qualifications:

Minimum Education:
Master’s Degree in Nurse Practitioner Program

Minimum Experience:
Three (3) years of professional nursing experience in a clinical environment. Prior experience relevant to the area of clinical practice is preferred.

Required Certification/Registration:
Current and ongoing license as a Professional Nurse First Assist AND Nurse Practitioner by the State of New York; OR

Current and ongoing license as a Physician Assistant by the State of New York.

Current BLS certification required at hire or transfer until ACLS is obtained. BLS renewal is not required once ACLS is achieved.

ACLS certification is required within 90 days of hire or transfer.

Physical Requirements:
Travel to multiple facilities is necessary.

Working Conditions:
Environmental Demands and Exposure to Hazards: Operates in a clean, well-lit, heated, or ventilated facility. No routine exposure to hazards.

Physical Demands:
Demonstrates the physical and functional ability to perform a full range of motion to accomplish tasks. Evidence of visual and auditory acuity and dexterity to operate computer and office equipment. Capable of enduring long periods of sitting, standing, and/or constant walking. Ability to lift 10 lbs.
