Position Overview:

In this role, you will leverage your professional expertise and clinical background to educate patients and healthcare providers about an oral therapy for narcolepsy and idiopathic hypersomnia through both in-person and virtual interactions. This dual-function position focuses on fostering enduring relationships with patients and healthcare professionals to enhance their understanding and management of their healthcare and medication journey.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver training based on a pre-approved curriculum to diverse audiences, including patients, caregivers, healthcare professionals, and physician office personnel.
  • Promote patient engagement and support strategies that enhance patient confidence in adhering to prescribed therapies and participating in ongoing support initiatives aligned with their healthcare objectives.
  • Provide comprehensive education regarding the prescribed therapy, while identifying and recommending resources for patients and caregivers, such as support groups, HUB services, specialty pharmacies, and financial assistance.
  • Establish and nurture relationships with healthcare providers, office staff, and fellow clinical educators; proactively address healthcare provider needs and create awareness of educator services based on patient requirements.
  • Collaborate with other client field teams to pinpoint educational opportunities within accounts.
  • Work alongside key stakeholders to educate healthcare providers, aiming to enhance patient outcomes using approved educational materials tailored for specific audiences within the designated territory.
  • Offer insights on industry trends and innovative methodologies to advance training curricula or program design.
  • Ensure compliance with all VMS, client, and industry regulations in all activities.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications:
  • Associate's degree in nursing with a minimum of three years of experience in patient education.
  • Experience with a pharmaceutical company, either as an employee or contractor.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field.
Licenses and Credentials:
  • Registered Nurse (RN) or Nurse Practitioner (NP) license.
  • Valid driver's license is required.
  • Credentialing may be necessary, which could include mandatory Covid vaccination.
Essential Skills:
  • Knowledge of neurological conditions and/or rare diseases.
  • Proven ability to collaborate with various cross-functional partners and key stakeholders to optimize patient experiences.
  • Demonstrated experience in presenting and training diverse audiences, both in-person and virtually.
  • Ability to adapt to changing business needs and product relevance in a dynamic environment.
  • Proficient in utilizing technology, including video conferencing platforms, tablets, and projectors.
  • Intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
  • Eligible to participate in federal healthcare programs or federal procurement initiatives.
Travel Requirements:
  • Weekly overnight travel is necessary.
  • Must have reliable transportation.
Working Conditions:

The work environment is primarily sedentary, with occasional standing and walking required. The setting is generally favorable, with adequate lighting and temperature, and no hazardous conditions. Work is typically conducted in an office environment equipped with standard office tools.

Physical Requirements:
  • Must be able to read, write, and communicate fluently in English, with the ability to engage effectively (hear, listen, speak) with or without reasonable accommodations.
  • Must be capable of lifting and moving up to 20 lbs.
Compensation:

The anticipated salary range for this position is between $110,000 and $115,000, with additional opportunities for targeted commission based on performance. The final salary will depend on the successful candidate's qualifications, including education, experience, and competencies relevant to the role. Some positions may include a car allowance and eligibility for performance-based bonuses.
