Job Title: Public Health Nurse

We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Public Health Nurse to join our team at the Georgia Department of Public Health. As a Public Health Nurse, you will play a critical role in promoting health and preventing disease in our communities.

Job Summary:

The Public Health Nurse will provide direct nursing care to patients, administer immunizations, and perform health screenings. You will also assist with health education and promotion, and participate in program planning and evaluation.

Responsibilities:
  • Administer immunizations to patients of all ages
  • Perform health screenings and provide health education
  • Assist with program planning and evaluation
  • Participate in health fairs and educational programs
  • Use computer technology to collect and store data
Requirements:
  • Vocational/Technical degree in licensed practical nursing from an accredited college
  • Current Georgia license to practice as a Licensed Practical Nurse
  • CPR certification
  • Completion of all necessary orientation and training for Public Health LPN
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Public Health experience
  • Experience with screenings, immunizations, and interviewing patients
  • Bilingual Spanish/English speaking language
