Job Title: Surgical First Assistant

The Hospitals of Providence is seeking a skilled Surgical First Assistant to join our team in El Paso, Texas.

Job Summary

The Surgical First Assistant provides critical support to surgeons during operations, ensuring a smooth and efficient procedure. This role requires strong communication skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work well under pressure.

Responsibilities

  • Assist surgeons during operations, maintaining a sterile environment and ensuring proper equipment is available.
  • Review patient charts and medical history to prepare for procedures.
  • Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to ensure seamless patient care.
  • Participate in ongoing education and training to stay up-to-date on the latest surgical techniques and technologies.

Requirements

Education

Required: Graduate of a CAAHEP accredited program.

Preferred: Associates degree.

Experience

Required: 3 years scrub and/or assisting experience.

Preferred: 5 years as surgical technician.

Certifications

Required: BLS. Surgical Technology Certification. Surgical First Assistant certification.
