Job Summary:

We are seeking a skilled Heavy Equipment Diesel Mechanic to join our team at US Foods. This position offers a competitive pay rate of $26.00 per hour, with a $5,000 retention bonus for eligible new hires. The work schedule is Sunday to Friday from 11:00 PM to 7:30 AM.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Troubleshoot, diagnose, and complete repairs on diesel equipment, including tractors, trailers, bobtails, and reefers.
  • Perform preventative maintenance according to company standards.
  • Maintain accurate documentation of repair orders and parts accountability.
  • Handle road service calls and perform equipment rescue and transport as needed.
  • Maintain a clean and safe work environment in compliance with safety regulations.
  • Handle inventory and recordkeeping.
  • Assume increased responsibility and certifications as needed.

Requirements:

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • 3 years of hands-on experience as a heavy duty commercial diesel mechanic or reefer mechanic, or a combination of both.
  • Diagnostic and troubleshooting skills.
  • Prior experience with PM program administration.
  • Must have personal hand tools.
  • Ability to comply with EPA and OSHA regulations.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
  • Flexibility to work a varied schedule, including nights and weekends.
  • Physically able to lift and carry heavy objects.
