Nurse Practitioner

We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Registered Nurse to join our Pacu team at Carle Health. As a key member of our interdisciplinary team, you will contribute to the provision and management of care to patients through the application of the nursing process.
Responsibilities- Assess patient's status through interview, observation, and physical assessment of actual problems and outcomes.
- Develop an individualized plan of care using a collaborative approach with the patient/family and healthcare team.
- Use appropriate interventions identified in the plan of care to achieve expected patient outcomes.
- Systematically evaluate and document patient's progress toward expected outcomes/goals on an ongoing basis throughout the shift.
- Modify plan of care based on evaluation and as needed based on changes in patient condition.
- Complete required documentation as appropriate, including patient chart and event reports.
- Demonstrate professional accountability for own practice as evidenced through seeking resources and continued self-development.
- Demonstrate technical knowledge of equipment and troubleshoot when problems arise.
- Acquire and maintain current knowledge and skills in evidence-based nursing practice.
- Promote the professional development of self and team members.
- Share clinical knowledge through informal teaching and in response to the learning needs of others.
- Demonstrate a practical problem-solving approach to patient moving and handling issues (as applicable).
- Demonstrate skills to promote patient and staff safety through appropriate use of lift equipment (as applicable).
- Possess knowledge and skills necessary to obtain adequate lab specimens for testing.
- Perform patient bedside lab testing and associated quality control in compliance with medical provider's orders and hospital lab procedures/policies.
- College Diploma in Nursing.
- Registered Professional Nurse (RN) License Illinois upon hire and Basic Life Support (BLS) (AHA) within 30 days and Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) (AHA) within 1 year.
- Use of usual and customary equipment used to perform essential functions of the position.
- Basic computer knowledge using word processing, spreadsheet, email, and web browser.
- Multicultural sensitivity.
- Critical thinking skills using independent judgement in making decisions.
