Job SummaryWe are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Dental Assistant to join our team at Familia Dental. As a key member of our clinical team, you will play a vital role in providing exceptional patient care and supporting our dentists in delivering high-quality dental services.
Responsibilities- Welcome and escort patients in a professional and friendly manner, ensuring a positive experience from arrival to departure.
- Ensure treatment rooms are equipped and stocked with necessary inventory, and re-order when necessary to maintain optimal workflow.
- Take and record patient medical and dental histories, vital signs, blood pressure, and pulse, and document all dental procedures performed during each patient visit.
- Develop and take dental diagnostic x-rays, and pour and base diagnostic models and fabricate temporary restorations as allowed by state law.
- Sterilize and disinfect instruments, set up instrument trays, prepare materials, and assist dentists during dental procedures.
- Provide dental education and information to patients, promoting oral health and hygiene strategies to maintain optimal oral health.
- Notify the Office Manager of equipment trouble or general safety concerns, and participate in morning huddles, chart reviews, and regular office meetings.
- Recognize and be sensitive to patients' emotions, and understand and follow company policy and procedures, as well as state and federal laws related to a dental office.
- Exceptional customer service skills and excellent verbal and written communication and listening skills.
- Basic computer knowledge and experience with dental management software, with Denticon experience preferred.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, patient-focused environment, and be detail-oriented, able to carry out written and verbal instructions.
- Organizational and time management skills, and ability to handle multiple tasks and prioritize effectively.
- Meet state requirements for DA duties, continuing education, or license, and hold Basic Life Support (BLS), cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) certificate, and radiography certificate.

Office hours: Monday to Friday, 9 AM to 6 PM, and Saturday, 9 AM to 4 PM. Full-time employment: 4+ days a week, 30-40 hours per week, available to work Saturdays when needed. Part-time employment: 2+ days a week, 29 hours or less per week, available to work Saturdays when needed, with multiple half-day shifts or fewer full-day shifts.
