Position Overview

Weisiger Group is in search of a Manager of Environmental Health and Safety (EHS) for our LiftOne division. This role involves implementing and maintaining EHS programs, focusing on reducing injuries and vehicular incidents, ensuring regulatory compliance, and fostering a positive safety culture.

As the EHS Manager, you will lead EHS initiatives within our LiftOne division, enhancing the health and safety performance of designated LiftOne branches and technicians who travel to serve our customers.
Each day, you will collaborate with LiftOne leadership and engage with branch and mobile technicians servicing Powered Industrial Trucks (PIT) and similar industrial vehicles and equipment.
You will work closely with teams in Operations, Fleet, Continuous Improvement, Human Resources, and Legal to advance our EHS program.
This role requires a strategic mindset to drive continuous improvement in EHS, ensuring program scalability and sustainability.
You will analyze data to identify trends related to safety indicators, assisting your partners in prioritizing safety, and applying project management techniques to enhance performance through incident prevention, investigation, and mitigation.
Key Responsibilities
- Act as the EHS regulatory and incident reduction expert for LiftOne.
- Collaborate with LiftOne leaders to identify and prioritize EHS improvement initiatives focused on risk reduction, incident reduction, cost efficiency, and regulatory compliance.
- Recognize emerging EHS compliance and incident risk trends, implementing existing policies or developing new initiatives as necessary.
- Facilitate change management and communication to ensure effective EHS program implementation.
- Utilize stakeholder feedback to align EHS initiatives with the needs of LiftOne.
- Exhibit self-motivation and creative problem-solving skills, guiding teams through complex situations to implement straightforward resolutions.
- Oversee the implementation of EHS policies through compliance assessments.
- Drive EHS improvement actions to completion using project management techniques.
- Develop training materials and communication tools, providing coaching and formal training.
- Enhance the effectiveness of incident investigation and corrective action processes.
- Assist in EHS data analysis and trend reporting.
- Support workers' compensation claim management.
- Implement safety management systems for new locations.
Qualifications
To succeed in this role, candidates must meet the following requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in occupational safety or a related field, with a minimum of 7 years of experience in occupational safety and health management.
- Experience in vehicle mechanical or industrial service and DOT transportation compliance is preferred.
- Certifications such as Certified Safety Professional or OSHA Certified Instructor are advantageous.
- Advanced skills in project management, change management, stakeholder engagement, and continuous improvement.
- Experience in implementing and sustaining behavior-based safety programs.
- General knowledge of workers' compensation laws and claims management practices.
- Strong communication skills across all organizational levels.
- Willingness to travel approximately 30% to 70% of the time to regional branch locations.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
- Ability to establish trust and collaborate effectively with organizational partners.
