About the Job

Elite Staffing Network is seeking a full-time Registered Nurse (RN) to support the Labor and Delivery Unit at the Naval Medical Center Camp Lejeune, NC.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform monitoring of 500 to 950 triage patients per month, including continuous fetal monitoring, spontaneous rupture of membrane check, labor check, prolonged monitoring, rule out pre-term labor, decreased fetal movement, and Pregnancy Induced Hypertension.
  • Provide management of Pregnancy Induced Hypertension patients.
  • Provide intravenous management (fluids, Pitocin, Magnesium Sulfate, antibiotics and insulin).
  • Perform lab draws.
  • Provide pain management (monitor patient status on continuous laboring epidurals, intravenous narcotics, and emotional support).
  • Assist the provider with inductions.
  • Perform vaginal delivery procedures (pushing, delivery, recovery, etc.).
  • Assist the provider with operative vaginal delivery procedures.
  • Perform pre-op for C-sections.
  • Perform procedures for transition of normal newborn (NRP as needed, bath, shots, assessment, breastfeeding assistance).
  • Provide stabilization for transport of high-risk patients.
  • Provide patient/family teaching.
  • Support C-section deliveries as circulating nurse in the OR.
  • Provide post anesthesia care for patients who have received epidural, spinal or general anesthesia.
Requirements
  • Education: Possess a Associates Degree in Nursing, from an accredited agency such as the Accreditation Commission for Education in Nursing (ACEN) or the Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education (CCNE).
  • Experience: Must have at least 1 year experience in the past five years in a Labor and Delivery Unit.
  • Licensure: Current, unrestricted RN license from any state.
  • Life Support Certification: Current AHA or ARC BLS/ACLS certifications. Must have a NRP certificate.
Work Schedule

Sunday - Saturday, 12 and 8 hour shifts - overnight shifts only. Work some weekends. Work some holidays.
