Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Civil Attorney to join our team at the Davis County Government. As a key member of our legal department, you will be responsible for providing expert legal advice and representation to the County in civil cases.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Represent the County in civil cases in State or Federal Courts and before state administrative agencies.
  • Prepare and file complaints and other court pleadings and documents, and provide legal advice to County officials.
  • Research legal issues and legislation, and draft and review ordinances, contracts, and other documents.
  • Consult with other staff attorneys, communicate with private citizens, and assess liability and risk issues.
  • Maintain knowledge and skill levels in current case decisions and legislation.

Requirements:

  • Graduation from an accredited law school with a Juris Doctorate degree.
  • Active membership in the Utah Bar Association, with a good standing.
