Job SummaryWe are seeking an experienced Occupational Health and Safety Professional to join our team and contribute to the growth and maintenance of our safety culture. This role requires approximately 70% of time in the field, conducting regular site visits to inspect projects for safety compliance and following up on corrective measures.
Responsibilities:
- Assist in implementing safety protocols around job site safety practices, including fall protection, hazard communication, and other related items.
- Conduct inspections of Patuxent Roofing projects to ensure safety compliance and identify areas for improvement.
- Collaborate with teams to develop and implement Site Specific Safety Plans and Activity Hazard Analyses to maintain a safe workplace.
- Evaluate and ensure compliance with OSHA, federal, state, and local regulations, and monitor and enforce the requirements of the safety manual.
- Develop and deliver training sessions for employees on safe work practices, policies, and procedures.
- Identify potential safety hazards and recommend corrective actions to mitigate risks.
- Contribute to the development of policies and procedures related to occupational health and safety.
- Collaborate with project managers, superintendents, subcontractors, and suppliers to maintain a safe working environment.
- Provide safety orientation and training to new hires.
- Establish and manage a safety committee at local branches.
- Support OSHA agency-level audits as needed.
- Bachelor's degree in Occupational Health and Safety/Safety Management or a related field; field experience may be considered as alternate experience.
- Procore Experience Preferred.
- 1-3 years of experience developing, implementing effective solutions, and maintaining safety programs with measurable results.
- Experience with OSHA regulations and procedures.
- Willingness to acquire OSHA 30-hour in Construction 1926 certification and working knowledge of it.
- Willingness to acquire EM 385 certification.
- Recognized BCSP certification preferred but not required.
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills.
- Attention to detail and strong organizational skills.
- Proficient in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and Adobe Acrobat proficiency.
- Bilingual (English/Spanish) preferred but not required.
