Assembler II Job Summary
At Universal Forest Products, we're committed to excellence in every aspect of our operations. As an Assembler II, you'll play a vital role in our production team, working collaboratively to bring our products to life. Your attention to detail and ability to work efficiently will ensure that our customers receive high-quality products that meet their specifications.
Key Responsibilities:
- Set up and maintain a safe and organized work area, ensuring all necessary tools and equipment are readily available.
- Fabricate and assemble component parts according to customer specifications, adhering to quality standards.
- Operate presses and machinery, as well as hand tools, to complete the assembly process.
- Stack completed products and, if required, cover, label, and band components/finished products.
- Conduct pre-shift/startup equipment inspections and report any issues or concerns.
- Maintain a clean and orderly work environment, ensuring equipment is safe to operate.
- Perform basic TPM on equipment and complete TPM paperwork as required.
- Record production data as needed and ensure compliance with established safety and quality procedures.
- Participate in safety, CI, and other programs and meetings.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements:
- High school diploma/GED preferred but not required.
- A minimum of 6 months of experience assembling components or specialty products is required; 1 year of experience or more is preferred.
- Working knowledge of basic math.
- Must be at least 18 years of age.
