The Department of Comparative, Diagnostic, and Population Medicine at the College of Veterinary Medicine is seeking a qualified candidate for the role of Assistant or Associate Professor of Zoological Medicine. This is a full-time clinical track position focused on advancing the field of zoological medicine.
The successful applicant will engage in clinical service and educational activities within the Zoological Medicine Service, contributing to the veterinary care of a diverse range of species, including zoological companion animals and native wildlife.
Teaching responsibilities will encompass both theoretical and practical training for veterinary students, residents, and interns, with opportunities for mentoring graduate students as well.
The Zoological Medicine Service is dedicated to providing exceptional veterinary care and is supported by a skilled team, including faculty, residents, interns, and veterinary technicians.
Collaboration with various clinical, diagnostic, and research units within the college is encouraged, fostering an environment of innovation and excellence in veterinary medicine.
The College of Veterinary Medicine prides itself on its diverse academic community, reflecting a wide range of experiences and backgrounds among students, faculty, and staff.
Compensation:
Salary and rank will be determined based on the candidate's qualifications and experience.
Qualifications:
Applicants must possess a DVM or equivalent degree from an accredited institution and should have or be eligible for diplomate status with the American College of Zoological Medicine, with the expectation of achieving this status within three years of employment. Additionally, USDA Category II accreditation is required within the first year of hire.
