Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced School Security Resource Officer to join our team at Hampshire County Schools. As a key member of our safety team, you will be responsible for ensuring the safety and security of our students, staff, and facilities.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement safety procedures to prevent and respond to potential threats
  • Conduct regular patrols of school grounds and monitor security cameras
  • Supervise weapons detectors and special events, and direct foot and auto traffic as needed
  • Protect school property and students from theft and property damage, and assist in medical emergencies
  • Maintain positive relationships with students and staff to enhance positive behaviors
  • Work with counselors and support staff to assist students with referrals to service agencies or conflict resolutions
  • Act as a liaison with law enforcement agencies and provide basic information about students on campus
  • Refer students and families to appropriate agencies for assistance as needed
Requirements
  • WV Law Enforcement Certification
  • Must have jurisdiction in Hampshire County, WV to make an arrest
  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Valid Driver's License
  • Pass criminal/character/driving background investigation
  • Other examinations as deemed necessary
  • A patient attitude and even temper
  • The ability to counsel and interact with students in the pre-k-12 setting
  • A moral and ethical role model for students
Working Conditions

This is a part-time, as-needed position with a maximum of 8 hours per shift and up to 130 hours per month. The selected candidate will be required to work a varied schedule, including regular school days and after-school events.

The salary for this position is $30.00 per hour.
