HealthCare Support is currently seeking a qualified Sterile IV Compounding Pharmacy Technician to join our team.
Key Responsibilities:
As a Sterile IV Compounding Pharmacy Technician, you will be responsible for:
- Coordinating and scheduling the preparation of sterile admixtures and home medical equipment orders in collaboration with the Pharmacist.
- Performing all necessary calculations for product preparation and obtaining validation from the Pharmacist prior to compounding or mixing.
- Compounding sterile admixtures and non-admixtures, which may include parenteral nutrition, antibiotics, chemotherapy, hydration solutions, and narcotic analgesics, while adhering to aseptic techniques as permitted by state regulations.
- Preparing labels, prescriptions, and compounding worksheets, while ensuring accurate maintenance of product lot numbers, expiration dates, and batch records.
- Generating delivery and pick slips under the supervision of the Pharmacist and managing the picking and pulling of supplies and home medical equipment.
- Ensuring that compounding and clean room areas, along with related equipment, are cleaned, sanitized, and maintained in accordance with company policies and procedures.
- Gathering supply inventories from patients and clients, and effectively communicating this information to the Pharmacist as needed.
- Participating in branch management, departmental, and inter-departmental meetings, as well as quality improvement initiatives.
Compliance:
Adhering to all relevant accreditation, OSHA, FDA, state, local, and federal regulations and standards related to infusion pharmacy and home medical equipment is essential.
Qualifications:
To be considered for the Sterile IV Compounding Pharmacy Technician position, candidates should possess:
- A minimum of 1 year of direct IV compounding experience.
- Experience in hospital compounding is acceptable, with a preference for home infusion experience.
- Current Sterile IV certification (must be available for verification).
- State registration in Texas is required.
Preferred Qualifications:
National certification is preferred.
