Job Summary

The Cook County Health and Hospitals System is seeking a highly skilled Advanced Practice Nurse (APN) to join our team in the Gyne/Oncology department. As an APN, you will provide high-quality patient care, manage complex cases, and work collaboratively with our multidisciplinary team to deliver exceptional patient outcomes.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide comprehensive patient care, including preoperative and postoperative management, diagnostic testing, and therapeutic interventions.
  • Collaborate with surgeons and other healthcare professionals to develop and implement individualized care plans.
  • Conduct thorough assessments, order diagnostic tests, and interpret results to inform patient care decisions.
  • Develop and implement treatment plans, including medication management and procedural interventions.
  • Communicate effectively with patients, families, and healthcare teams to ensure seamless care transitions.
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives and contribute to the development of policies and procedures.
Requirements
  • Master's degree in Nursing from an accredited school of nursing.
  • Current Illinois licensure as a Registered Professional Nurse and Advanced Practice Nurse-Nurse Practitioner.
  • Prescriptive authority in the State of Illinois.
  • Certification by a nationally recognized body as designated by the Nurse Practice Act.
  • At least one year of full-time nursing experience in a specialized clinical nursing area.
  • Active Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification.
Preferred Qualifications
  • One year of experience as an Advanced Practice Nurse in Gyne/Oncology or a related field.
  • Completion of a one-year APRN fellowship in the same discipline.
  • Bilingual.
