Medical Support Specialist CL2

We are seeking a skilled Medical Assistant - CL2 to join our team at the University of Maine at Farmington. This role offers a unique opportunity to work in a dynamic healthcare environment and contribute to the well-being of our patients.
As a Medical Assistant, you will be responsible for performing a range of clinical and administrative tasks, including phlebotomy, CLIA-Waived laboratory testing, and obtaining cultures as ordered by medical professionals. You will also have the opportunity to supervise MA I staff and participate in the development of policies and procedures to improve business processes.
Key Responsibilities- Perform phlebotomy, CLIA-Waived laboratory testing; obtain cultures as ordered by a medical professional.
- Review and interpret policies/procedures to ensure compliance and accuracy.
- Use proper judgment and initiative in handling issues from students, parents, faculty, staff, and the public.
- Assist in developing policies and procedures to improve business processes.
- Certification as a Medical Assistant or completion of an approved Medical Assistant Program.
- High School diploma or equivalent G.E.D.
