About the Job

The University of Maine at Farmington is seeking a highly skilled Medical Assistant to join our healthcare team. As a Medical Assistant - CL2, you will play a vital role in providing exceptional patient care and supporting the smooth day-to-day operations within our healthcare clinic.

This is an excellent opportunity for a dedicated and compassionate individual who is passionate about delivering high-quality care and enhancing patient experiences. In this role, you will perform a variety of clinical and administrative tasks, including phlebotomy, CLIA-Waived laboratory testing, and obtaining cultures as ordered by medical professionals.

Key Responsibilities
  • Maintain accurate medical supply inventory and order supplies as needed.
  • Orient and direct MA students with supervision and oversight by physician, PA, or NP.
  • Supervise MA I staff with oversight by physician, PA, or NP.
  • May be assigned as HIPAA Compliance officer for the work unit with oversight by the Health Services Director.
  • Perform phlebotomy, CLIA-Waived laboratory testing; obtain cultures as ordered by a medical professional.
Requirements
  • Certification as a Medical Assistant or completion of an approved Medical Assistant Program.
  • High School diploma or equivalent G.E.D.
