Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Fire Alarm Installer to join our team at Johnson Controls. As a Fire Alarm Installer, you will be responsible for installing, programming, and servicing Fire Alarm Systems, Access Control, and CCTV Systems.

Key Responsibilities
  • Install and program Fire Alarm Systems, Access Control, and CCTV Systems
  • Troubleshoot and repair Fire Alarm Systems, Access Control, and CCTV Systems
  • Configure and commission Fire Alarm Systems, Access Control, and CCTV Systems
  • Perform panel repair and reprogramming, device replacement and repair, and system testing
  • Organize and utilize technical resources, information, material, and support to ensure efficient execution of tasks
  • Communicate with central dispatch on current work order status and receive updates on outstanding customer issues
Requirements
  • 1-2 years of documented experience in low voltage electrical systems, including Fire/Life Safety Systems, Access Control, CCTV, and Security Systems
  • Experience in reading and interpreting blueprints, submittals, and operational/product manuals
  • Ability to install conduit wire and fire alarm devices
  • High School Diploma or equivalent required
  • Capable of performing physical labor, including carrying and moving equipment and tools up to 50-70 lbs
  • Able to work in unusual and sometimes difficult positions, such as climbing ladders, scaffolding, and high lift equipment up to 40 feet
  • Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends, to meet customer requirements
  • Overnight travel may be required
Preferred Qualifications
  • Two-year associate degree in Electronics, Network, Computer Science, or related field
  • NICET level II or ability to obtain in first year
