Vision Care Technician

In this role, you will play a crucial part in enhancing patient experiences by assisting them through various optical assessments and guiding them in selecting the right eyewear options.
As a Vision Care Technician, you will be expected to uphold a courteous and professional demeanor while performing essential tasks that contribute to patient satisfaction. You will collaborate with a dedicated team that values your contributions and supports your professional growth.
Key Responsibilities- Welcome all visitors to the office with a warm and professional attitude.
- Collect initial information through patient pretests, including documenting primary concerns, obtaining medical history, and measuring visual acuity, eye movements, and interocular pressure (IOP).
- Inform patients about the purpose of each test and provide clear instructions to ensure accurate results.
- Efficiently record pretest outcomes in the electronic health record (EHR) system.
- Guide patients on the proper use and care of contact lenses.
- Support the Optometrist during patient examinations as needed.
- Assist patients in making informed choices regarding frames and lenses.
- Collaborate with team members to ensure a smooth workflow.
- High School Diploma or GED required.
- 1-3 years of experience in a similar role preferred.
- Ability to adapt and multitask effectively.
- Detail-oriented and self-motivated.
- Genuine interest in the healthcare field.
- Excellent communication skills.
- Professional appearance is essential.
