Job Summary:

Preferred Primary Care Physicians, Inc. is seeking a skilled Medical Laboratory Technician to join our team. As a Medical Laboratory Technician, you will play a vital role in assisting healthcare professionals with patient care, administrative, and laboratory tasks.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Escort patients to and from examination or treatment rooms as needed.
  • Record patient data, including vital signs, height and weight, allergies, medications, chief complaint, and reason for visit.
  • Administer subcutaneous and intramuscular injections as directed by the healthcare provider.
  • Answer and return patient calls, contact pharmacies for prescriptions, and handle other patient telephone calls as directed.
  • Obtain patient record information, lab data, diagnostics, and consults as required by the healthcare provider or nurse.
  • Perform phlebotomy blood draws in accordance with OSHA and universal safety precautions.
  • Assist with examinations and procedures, scheduling tests and appointments, and preparing examination and treatment rooms.
  • Process medical instruments and equipment, inform healthcare providers of patient reschedules or no-shows, and maintain confidentiality.
Requirements:
  • A high school diploma or equivalent is required.
  • Medical Laboratory Technician certification or at least 2 years' experience with phlebotomy blood draws.
  • Ability to complete back office medical assistant duties, including rooming patients, vital signs, injections, and triage.
