We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Chief Medical Director to lead our clinical team at the Community Based Outpatient Clinic (CBOC) in Dickinson, ND. As a key member of our leadership team, you will be responsible for overseeing the clinical aspects of our CBOC, ensuring high-quality patient care, and driving exceptional clinical outcomes.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Diagnose and treat diseases and injuries of human internal organ systems, delivering preventive treatment of primary care needs, including chronic disease management.
  • Manage day-to-day medical operations, ensuring high-quality clinical expectations and exceptional customer service.
  • Achieve and maintain excellent clinical outcomes through periodic chart reviews, direct observation, and adherence to VA guidelines.
  • Ensure all colleagues provide excellent customer service to each veteran, both in person and over the phone, as well as to fellow colleagues and clinic visitors.
  • Participate in managing the clinic's financial performance.
  • Participate in outreach events to support enrollment initiatives.
  • Support patient enrollment and retention by providing guidance on scheduling, follow-up visits, or nurse visits.
  • Maintain staffing levels consistent with veteran enrollment, contract terms, and clinical outcomes.
  • Review and analyze reporting/responsiveness to alerts and notifications.
  • Ensure all clinic metrics are at or above the VA threshold.
  • Emphasize recruiting, coaching, mentoring, and retaining talent through excellent communication, training, enforcing key competencies, and performance management.
  • Develop and maintain a positive, collaborative working relationship with our VA partners, ensuring the Regional Medical Director is informed of any significant issues.
  • Innovate, embrace, and support new initiatives, whether clinical or operational, and execute on key strategic initiatives that drive the success of the Valor Business.
Requirements:
  • 4+ years of clinical medical practice with healthcare management experience preferred; government healthcare environment preferred.
  • Doctor of Medicine or Osteopathic Medicine Degree.
  • Board certified in family practice or internal medicine.
  • Credentialed and in good standing through the Veterans Health Administration (VA).
  • Valid, unrestricted license in the state of desired employment, or in any U.S. state or territory, depending on VA contractual requirements.
  • Current certification in Basic Life Support and ACLS as specified by individual VAMC contract.
  • Current, unrestricted Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) registration.
  • Proficiency in written and spoken English.
  • Excellent computer skills.
  • Ability to manage, both up and down.
  • Energetic and optimistic demeanor.
  • Strong service mentality and a focus on achieving all aspects of defined service standards.
  • Ability to resolve colleague, client, and patient issues in an effective and timely manner.
