We are seeking a skilled and compassionate School Nurse LPN to join our team at Quality Talent Group. As a School Nurse LPN, you will play a vital role in providing direct school nursing services to promote prevention, medical management, and academics.
Job Summary:The successful candidate will be responsible for assessing and evaluating the health and developmental status of students, interpreting health and developmental status to school personnel, parents, and students, and providing parent education related to student needs. Additionally, the School Nurse LPN will participate in the development of Health Plans, attend school conferences, and provide care, delegate, and teach care to others under the established plan of care.
Responsibilities:- Provides school nursing services to direct service school districts
- Assesses and evaluates the health and developmental status of students
- Interprets health and developmental status to school personnel, parents, and students
- Provides parent education related to student needs
- Participates in the development of Health Plans
- Attends school conferences
- Provides care, delegates, and teaches care to others under the established plan of care
- Graduate of an accredited Diploma, Associate, or Baccalaureate School of Nursing
- Current, unrestricted state license as a Registered Nurse or Licensed Practical Nurse in the state of practice
- Current CPR certification
- Current Basic Life Support certification
- Demonstrated proficiency in clinical assessments, documentation, and compliance with nursing care and policies and procedures
- Pediatrics experience preferred but not required
- Must be able to speak, write, read, and understand English
- Must be able to travel
- Must be able to lift 50 pounds
- Prolonged walking, standing, bending, kneeling, reaching, twisting
- Must be able to sit and climb stairs
- Must have visual and hearing acuity
- Must have a strong sense of smell and touch
- Must be able to sufficiently reposition patients and move equipment without assistance
- Must be able to function in a wide variety of environments which may involve exposure to allergens and other various conditions
- Possible exposure to blood, bodily fluids, and infectious diseases
