District Security Officer

This is a recruitment for a substitute District Security Officer to cover short and long-term absences.
Requirements / QualificationsEquivalent to one year of full-time experience in public or military law enforcement, plant security, etc., is required.
Experience with adolescent groups involving discipline, safety, and security is especially desired.
Possession of a high school diploma or equivalent is required.
Coursework in police science through a Community College or a Military Technical School is desirable.
SPECIAL LICENSE OR LANGUAGE SKILLSA current license issued by the Bureau of Security and Investigative Services (A Guard Card) and a valid First Aid/CPR card are required.
A valid Class C California Driver's License is desirable.
The ability to speak, read, and write another language, such as Armenian and Spanish, is desirable.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTSEmployees must be physically and mentally able to perform the essential duties of a position with or without reasonable accommodation and without hazard to themselves or others.
They must possess skills sufficient to establish adult authority with students.
They must be capable of lifting up to seventy-five pounds and holding the weight for 20 seconds and repeating the exercise three times within two minutes.
They must have the strength and agility to protect themselves and others, including students and staff, from physical attack.
They must be able to stand without outside support for at least one hour, walk at a rate of 100 yards within 60 seconds, and maintain the pace for five minutes.
They must be able to run/trot at a rate of 100 yards in 40 seconds.
They must be able to bend down to touch the ground and rise again to a full upright position 10 consecutive times within 30 seconds.
They must be able to crawl with hands touching the ground for 10 yards within 20 seconds.
They must be able to stoop and remain in a squatting position for 30 seconds.
They must be able to ascend and descend a flight of at least 15 stairs within 20 seconds and repeat the exercise three times within 75 seconds.

The scope of the consumer report/investigative consumer report may include, but is not limited to, the following areas:
Verification of Social Security number; current and previous residences; employment history, including all personnel files; education; references; credit history and reports; criminal history, including records from any criminal justice agency in any or all federal, state, or county jurisdictions; birth records; motor vehicle records, including traffic citations and registration; and any other public records.
