Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Geotechnical Engineer to join our team at HDR. As a Geotechnical Engineer, you will be responsible for developing geotechnical engineering designs, sketches, plans, specifications, and estimates for flood walls, levees, bank protection, and pumping station projects.

You will review design and construction submittals for geotechnical compliance with applicable codes, design standards, project requirements, and contract documents. Additionally, you will conduct slope stability, soil analysis, and other geotechnical engineering studies.

As a Geotechnical Engineer at HDR, you will perform geotechnical technical analyses, prepare proposals and reports, and coordinate with designers and contractors to implement recommendations on plans and in the field. You will also make decisions on significant design and engineering procedures as needed.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop geotechnical engineering designs, sketches, plans, specifications, and estimates for flood walls, levees, bank protection, and pumping station projects
  • Review design and construction submittals for geotechnical compliance with applicable codes, design standards, project requirements, and contract documents
  • Conduct slope stability, soil analysis, and other geotechnical engineering studies
  • Perform geotechnical technical analyses, prepare proposals and reports, and coordinate with designers and contractors to implement recommendations on plans and in the field
  • Make decisions on significant design and engineering procedures as needed

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Civil or Structural Engineering (or a related field)
  • Ability to prepare complete, concise and organized engineering calculations and reports
  • Willingness to travel and assist with hydraulic structures inspection
  • Geotechnical Engineering experience on dams, levees, hydraulic Structures, railroad, and transportation infrastructure
  • Proficient in geotechnical software including gINT, Slope/W, Seep /W, APILE, LPILE, GRLWeap, Settle3D (or other settlement software)

Location:

California and Colorado

Salary Range:

$77,154 - $125,250 annually/hourly depending upon skills, experience, education and geographical location
