At UPS, we are looking for a skilled Freelance On-Road Operations Manager to oversee the daily performance of our service providers. This role is responsible for ensuring quality service, improving performance, and maintaining compliance with environmental, health, and safety requirements.

This position encourages sales lead participation through mutually beneficial customer relationships and supervises others within the department. Our ideal candidate will work with service providers to maximize day-to-day proficiency and ensure packages are delivered in a safe, timely, and professional manner.

The responsibilities of this position include:

  • Completing administrative tasks, such as performance reviews, accident reports, and training, in a timely and accurate manner to facilitate the execution of the dispatch plan through the Service Providers.
  • Conducting required audits during on-job supervision rides to ensure adherence to UPS policies and procedures.
  • Utilizing technology, such as Orion, PAS, and Telematics, to identify opportunities for performance improvement and risk mitigation.
  • Communicating with customers to respond to service concerns, build relationships, and determine solutions that meet business goals.
  • Identifying business opportunities and forwarding them to the proper department for follow-up.
  • Encouraging service providers to identify and forward volume development opportunities to management.
  • Creating a customer-focused work environment to emphasize service and focus on building the business.
  • Communicating customers' business needs to employees to provide an understanding of job responsibilities and how actions impact customers.

We offer a competitive salary, estimated at $65,000 - $85,000 per year, based on experience and location. Additionally, we provide a comprehensive benefits package, including health insurance, retirement plans, and paid time off.
