- Goal Setting: Forecasts goals and objectives for the body shop and meet or exceed them.
- Interdepartmental Harmony: Ensures harmony and teamwork with all other departments.

- Budgeting: Prepares and administer an annual operating budget for the body shop.
- Regulatory Compliance: Understands, and keeps abreast of and comply with federal, state and local regulations that affect body shop operations, such as hazardous waste disposal, OSHA right-to-know, etc.
- Staff Management: Hires, trains, motivates, counsel, and monitor the performance of all body shop staff.
- Employee Scheduling: Direct and schedule the activities of all body shop employees while providing expectations and feedback.
- Estimating and Invoicing: Ensures accurate estimating, costing and invoicing in the department.
- Technical Assistance: Provides technical assistance as needed.
- Facility Management: Ensures premises and equipment and other assets are controlled and used effectively.
- Employee Communication: Conducts meetings with body shop employees to discuss/communicate activities and issues.
- Insurance and Customer Relations: Establishes and maintain good working relationships with several insurance adjusters and customers to encourage repeat and referral business.
- Quality Control: Completes quality checks on all completed on jobs.
- Equipment and Tool Management: Keeps abreast of new equipment and tools available and recommend purchases.
- Cleanliness and Organization: Ensures that the work areas and customer waiting area are kept clean.
- Support to Fixed Operations Director: Assists Fixed Operations Director as needed.
- Automotive Body Shop Management: 1+ years of experience.
- Work Experience: 5 years of relevant work experience.
- Collision Repair Knowledge: A complete understanding of the collision repair process, and familiarity with insurance repair procedures.
- Communication Skills: Ability to read and comprehend job-related instructions and information whether electronic or paper-based.
- Problem Solving: Deals creatively and logically with any problems that arise, while expressing empathy for customers and their problems.
- Interpersonal Skills: The ability to interact well with employees and customers at all levels, socially poised.
- Computer Proficiency: Estimating Software, and Microsoft Office.
- Education: High School diploma or equivalent required.
