Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Medical Laboratory Technician to join our team at Quest Diagnostics Incorporated. As a Medical Laboratory Technician, you will play a critical role in ensuring the accuracy and reliability of laboratory test results.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform Routine Testing: Conduct routine testing in blood bank, chemistry, hematology, urinalysis, serology, coagulation, and microbiology.
  • Assist with Specimen Processing: Assist with specimen processing as needed, ensuring that all samples are properly labeled and prepared for testing.
  • Maintain Laboratory Equipment: Perform instrument maintenance and troubleshooting to ensure that all laboratory equipment is functioning properly.
  • Collaborate with Colleagues: Work collaboratively with fellow employees to ensure that all tasks are completed efficiently and effectively.
Requirements
  • Education: Associate's degree in Medical Laboratory Technology or Bachelor's degree in Medical Technology.
  • Certification: ASCP MT/MLT certification or equivalent, or eligibility for national MT/MLT certification.
  • Skills: Good understanding of laboratory procedures, ability to troubleshoot problems, good communication skills, and ability to use independent judgment to solve problems.
Physical and Mental Requirements
  • Lifting and Carrying: Ability to lift and carry objects weighing up to 50 pounds, with frequent lifting and carrying of objects weighing 1-10 pounds.
  • Standing and Walking: Ability to stand and work at the bench for long periods of time, with frequent walking and/or standing.
  • Manual Dexterity: Ability to use manual and automated pipettes and laboratory instruments and apparatuses, requiring significant manual dexterity.
