Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Medical Laboratory Technician to join our team at Oklahoma Heart Hospital. As a Medical Laboratory Technician, you will play a critical role in ensuring the accuracy and precision of laboratory tests, while providing exceptional patient care and interacting with patients, physicians, and hospital staff in a professional manner.

Responsibilities
  • Perform and report laboratory tests with accuracy and precision
  • Assist with patient specimen testing, quality control, quality improvement, and equipment maintenance
  • Assist in the orientation of new laboratory personnel, promoting teamwork, positive attitude, initiative, and professionalism
  • Make decisions of moderate difficulty according to laboratory and hospital policies and procedures
  • Interact and respond to patients, physicians, and hospital staff in a professional manner
  • Handle confidential information regarding patient records
Requirements
  • Associates Degree in Medical Laboratory Technology or equivalent degree with credit hours meeting ASCP registry eligibility standards
  • MLT (ASCP) registry or MT (ASCP) registry
  • Minimum of one year of generalist experience in an acute care facility preferred
  • Blood Banking competency a plus
Working Knowledge

Current laboratory instrumentation includes:

  • Siemens Vista Chemistry Analyzer
  • Sysmex XN 2000
  • ACL TOP 500 Coagulation Analyzer
  • Cepheid GeneXprt
  • Siemens Clinitek Advantus Urinalysis Analyzer
  • Cerner Millennium Computer System

Previous experience and competency training with any of the above systems a plus.
