About the Role

As a Mental Health Technician at Oceans Healthcare, you will play a vital part in creating a therapeutic environment for our patients. You will work closely with the nursing staff to ensure that patient care activities are carried out efficiently and effectively.

Key Responsibilities:

* Assist in maintaining a safe and professional standard for patient care in accordance with Joint Commission standards and regulations.

* Effectively apply supportive behavior when assisting in the control of patients who exhibit unacceptable behavior, utilizing de-escalation and therapeutic interventions as needed.

* Inventory patient belongings accurately and secure contraband as required; complete unit safety checks regularly.

* Comply with standard/universal precautions and infection control policies, attending required in-services to stay informed.

* Implement patient care activities under the direction and supervision of licensed nursing personnel, performing vital signs, weights, ADL, intake and output documentation, nutritional monitoring, and communicating findings to the nurse.

* Assist patients with laundry, meals, bathroom functions, and maintenance of their belongings, as well as assist at-risk or physically challenged patients with mobility needs as necessary.
