The Refrigeration Maintenance Specialist is tasked with ensuring the optimal performance of ammonia refrigeration systems. This role involves daily service maintenance, conducting diagnostic evaluations, and identifying root causes for necessary repairs.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform maintenance, repairs, and preventative maintenance (PM) on anhydrous ammonia refrigeration systems safely and efficiently.
- Adhere to Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for PMs and repairs, ensuring equipment is returned to operational status.
- Interpret technical drawings, including P&IDs, blueprints, and electronic/mechanical schematics for effective equipment maintenance.
- Collaborate with production and maintenance teams to support the repair and upkeep of equipment.
- Utilize a Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS) to manage workload and document actions such as work orders and asset history.
- Monitor and optimize refrigeration control systems through computerized methods.
- Communicate effectively with customers, suppliers, and team members, both verbally and in writing.
- Operate powered equipment, including scissor lifts and boom lifts, during maintenance and repair tasks.
- Conduct mechanical and electrical repairs on various ammonia refrigeration systems.
- Troubleshoot and repair refrigeration-related electrical systems, including 120V control power and 480V 3-phase systems.
- Perform regular inspections and preventive maintenance to ensure peak performance of refrigeration equipment.
- Diagnose and resolve issues with refrigeration systems efficiently.
- Conduct system checks, including temperature and pressure readings, to verify proper operation.
- Handle emergency service calls for refrigeration system failures and execute timely repairs.
- Maintain accurate records of all repairs, maintenance activities, and parts utilized.
- Adhere to safety protocols while working with refrigeration systems.
