POSITION SUMMARY:
The Slitter Technician plays a crucial role in the production process by operating specialized machinery to cut wide metal coils into narrower sizes. This position requires a keen eye for detail and a commitment to maintaining high-quality standards.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Operate slitting machines efficiently to achieve desired coil widths.
- Conduct inspections of metal quality throughout the slitting procedure.
- Manage the loading and unloading of coils onto and from the machinery.
- Ensure that machines are properly adjusted and perform regular quality control checks.
- Assist in the setup and adjustment of cutting heads for optimal performance.
- Handle the transportation of coils and scrap materials to designated locations.
- Complete all necessary documentation and reporting accurately.
- Adhere to the requirements of the quality management system.
- Engage in continuous improvement initiatives to enhance operational efficiency.
- Perform additional tasks as required by management.
