Job Title: Application Developer - Business Intelligence

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Application Developer - Business Intelligence to join our team at The Pennsylvania State University. As a key member of our Business Intelligence culture, you will be responsible for designing and developing business intelligence applications and architecture.

Responsibilities:
  • Analyze and present data through reports to aid in decision-making, identifying and monitoring key performance indicators (KPIs).
  • Customize data models to best fit user requirements.
  • Build and maintain PowerBI dashboards using advanced data modeling.
  • Design, code, test, debug, implement, modify, and maintain new or existing applications.
  • Collaborate with subject matter experts and domain experts to gain operational insights and ensure data accuracy.
  • Investigate data and/or program problems, determine the source of the problem, and take corrective action.
  • Communicate with stakeholders to define deliverables, timelines, and responsibilities.
  • Integrate reports into other applications using embedded services or API automation.
  • Educate and support users on self-service data solutions and provide ongoing support.
Requirements:
  • Relevant experience, skills, and familiarity in Data Analysis Expression (DAX), Power BI application layer models, and Power Queries.
  • Experience in designing, developing, and managing complex reports and dashboards.
  • Proficient in Information Systems and excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Working knowledge of Power BI suite, R language, and MS PowerApps.
  • Knowledge of SQL queries and SQL Server Reporting Services (SSRS).
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a closely related field.
  • Experience working in Microsoft Fabric (MS Fabric).
  • Experience with.Net/C#/ASP.NET and Python.
What We Offer:
