Role Overview: Reporting directly to the Day Center Manager, the Care Assistant is responsible for delivering personal care services to participants at our day center. This position emphasizes a participant-centered caregiving experience, allowing you to utilize your skills to make a significant impact in the community.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver personal care and support with daily living activities (ADLs) to participants, including escorting, toileting, bathing, dressing, grooming, meal assistance, and laundry.
  • Monitor and record participants' vital signs as per instructions.
  • Assist participants with boarding and disembarking from transportation vehicles and act as a medical escort when necessary.
  • Observe activities within the day center to ensure participant safety.
  • Support meal service, ensuring participants receive the correct meals and assist with feeding when required.
  • Facilitate safe transfers in and out of homes and provide medical escort services to appointments as assigned.
  • Maintain supplies for personal care, including incontinence and grooming items.

Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Preferred: Certification as a Home Health Aide (HHA) or Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) in California.
  • At least one year of experience in providing personal care to seniors.
  • CA Food Handlers Certification within 30 days of hire.
