Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Construction Supervisor to oversee FTTH/Telecom construction crews. The successful candidate will be responsible for monitoring crew performance, making recommendations for improvement, and ensuring projects are completed on time, within budget, and to the required quality standards.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead daily work planning meetings and safety briefs with crews to ensure a proper plan.
  • Review daily target production goals with crews prior to commencing work.
  • Assist in building underground and aerial aspects of the FTTH network, ensuring strict quality standards.
  • Identify and remove potential project roadblocks with the Construction Manager.
  • Manage timelines and ensure the schedule is maintained.
  • Track daily production for each crew and ensure schedule demands are met.
  • Ensure crews start their job safely and correctly complete JHA in the project management system.
  • Take photos of specific elements of plant for close outs and upload into the project management system.
  • Monitor work environment and take action to ensure personnel safety based on environmental conditions.
  • Ensure the Right of Way/work area is safe and secure from pedestrian obstacles and potential casualties.
  • Reinforce positive work behavior and immediately stop work when observing unsafe behavior.
  • Ensure employees have a safe working environment and complete Safety Observations throughout the day.
  • Follow up with the Construction Manager to provide status of crews, safety, and production.
  • Upon completion of work, wheel off the job to record footages and upload data into the project management system.
  • Monitor and track work of subcontractors to ensure accountability and accuracy.
  • Ensure crews have safety vests, cones, truck signs, hard hats, and other required safety gear.
Requirements
  • High school diploma or similar required; Bachelor's degree in construction, business, management, or engineering preferred.
  • 3+ years of experience in the FTTH/Telecom construction industry.
  • Ability to manage 3+ crews at a time in a market.
  • Excellent communicator and leader.
  • Ability to establish and maintain a positive teamwork environment.
  • Ability to creatively solve problems and implement change.
  • Strong technology experience and ability to record data from the field.
  • Strong understanding of construction drawings and ability to interpret engineering work prints.
  • Strong understanding of safety disciplines and practices.
  • Knowledge of Work Area Protection and ability to ensure the team has necessary tools and materials.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to focus under pressure.
  • Ability to work after hours, some weekends, and evenings when needed.
  • Ability to relocate or travel to project locations.
  • Willing to obtain an OSHA 30 and CPR certification.
  • Valid driver's license required, with a clean driving record.
Physical Requirements
  • Ability to work in a non-climate-controlled environment and withstand inclement weather.
  • Physical strength, balance, hand-eye coordination, and stamina necessary to complete jobs in various areas.
  • Ability to perform physical activities that require considerable and sustained use of arms, legs, and body.
  • Ability to wear required personal protective equipment.
